When I moved to New Jersey 8 years ago, I became close to this woman and her group of friends.
My shcedule is rigourous and I have not had too much time to socialize. I have often asked her to lunch or dinner when her husband works late. No response. Our "realtionship" is strictly a phone relationship.
The phone relationship is not superficial. There was a real openess and we spoke about our families. We were both revealing.
Recently, we had one of our phone calls. This time, she chose to attach me and cross boundaries not acceptable. After she attached me with persoanly information she hung up the phone.
This pattern is not not. It has happened twice already. This time I wasn't willing to act as if nothing ha happened. I expected her to call and she did.
She greeted me with hello , how are you. I asked her if she thought I could be superficial after our lastconversation. She responded by saying " good luck with your life and I wish you the best".
Does anyone know how to say... I am sorry... I shouldn't have said what I said. I use to believe in extended families. I grew up in a large extended family. I see less and less extended families and blood relatives staying friendly. This saddens me.
Just like the "friend" I just described, people seem willing, more willing to give up realtionships. Its almost easist to justify staying angry, throwing away the "relationship".
It is easy to be critical. It is easier to find and point to another flaws. No one of us is perfect. We are all not perfect. Friendship and family is about "accepting " each other. People seem to take the easy way through judging those around. I believe the world will be very lonely and more people will live isolated as the friendships and families shrink.
My personal shoice is to forgive and stay open. Peolple make mistakes, they say stupid and harmful things. We must forgive and build on our realtionships or we will have none.

evie litwok/ tippy / the tippy story

ARE YOU A SINGLE WOMAN, DIVORCED, LIVING ALONE- WHEN YOU FILL OUT THE MEDIICAL FORMS, DO YOU WONDER WHO TO WRITE AS "EMERGENCY CONTACT"

In filling out medical forms, I always listed my father or my mother. My father died 4 years ago and my mother health is not good. I still list her as a contact but know her hearing is difficult. I have no children, no partner, no roomate. I am beginning to think about who to list.
Even some divorced friends with grown children are thinking about the same issue. I suggested we put each other down. My friends feel as I do. Life is not what we expected. Childhood memories of better times sadden us. Why is everyone linving alone? Why are so many of us so unhappy? What will the future be like?
I grew up in a large extended family. Over the years the exteded family has been shrinking. Too much fighting, too much stress, are too many crtical people fill my life. I long for my memories when everyone was together and the seasons were differentiated.
Today the days run into each other and the years feel shorter and shorter. Until 4 years ago it was a time I loved. The holdiays were always filled with mixed feelings: great joy and a little sadness. This year, unlike the past three years, it was filled only with sadness.
My father died four years ago and the Jewish New Year serves as a reminder of this loss. It was also the time of his bithday- September 25th. Every year before the holidays, I go to his grave. It is a place I want to go as I need to touch his gravestone.
This year a new dimension was added. Just before the holiday, my mother decided to move from the home they lived in for 30 years. As quickly as she decided to move is as quickly as she began to throw out everything accumulated for those same thirty years.
In a mere two weeks, closets were empty, everything seemed to be gone. I was and am in pain as I watch her unload the past. I , like my father, never throw anything out. I even keep notes he and my mother wrote to me.
I rushed to take things from her before they disapperaed. My mother is not sentimental and does not like clutter. If you forget to take something, she throws it out.
I could not take things fast enough. I didn't even know what she had I would want. I plucked a garbage bag from the trash and found stuffed animals from my childhood. I didn't remember them until I looked inside.
I lloked through the bag I found some 15 stuffed dogs from the fifties and sixties. Many were signed "autograph" puppies. Each one brought memories and tears. No wonder I live with several dogs today. Everything I had in my room as a child was a "dog". Had I not looked through this bag, I would have forgotten the memories the stuffed dogs brought back.
I am frightened to think about what my mother threw out I would have loved. Memories are so importnat to me. I live my life trying to create and capture them through writing, photography and film.
I found pictures in the garbage and could not help but wonder, does she know who I am... and does it matter? I am afraid she has thrown out memories of my family.
My mother was in labor camps then Auschwitz. My father survived 14 concentration camps. As I child I remember my mother telling me she didn't have a single picture of her mother. I never forgot.
Perhaps as a result or perhaps I took pictures because I love it. No matter, I have spent my life taking pictures, keeping them organized, giving albums to friends as gifts and trying to keep our history alive.
It's painful for me to be a collector of things old and watch my mother eliminate everything. I can't prevent her from doing it because she gets furious with me. I grabbed what she permitted and hope she has kept the pictures and maybe some other memroies. This move coupled with the Jewish New Year is painful. It is probably the most painful holdiay since my fathers death. For it is also , the dealth of the hone I knew, the memories I treasured and physical things that serve as reminders of times past. I doubt I will forget this holiday anytime soon.

evie litwok/ tippy/ the tippy story

TOM CRUISE

For most of his career, Tom Cruise was under the guidance of Pat Kingsley, the reknown publicist and head of PMK. His career and career moves were enormously successful. The persona the public saw was one they liked.
Tom Cruise's personality and character was carefully hidden through the guidance of Pat Kingsley. Since she fwas fired as his publicist, the carefully crafted career took a nose dive.
Interesting enough, Pat Kingley, a long time reknown publicist, also faltered. Her own firm was usurped from her by a younger and trusted partner.
Both have one thing in common. They both spent a lifetime building and establishing their respective success. Both enjoyed wonderful reputations. Finally, both of their careers went into freefall.
The building of a career happens over twenty years and the fall takes "one comment" or one day. It doesn't only happen to the "Hollywood elite", it happens in everyday life. Its a reflection of the culture.
In some cases, the reaction is not surprising. Tom Crtuise lost his female audience from his comments about Brook Shields. His insensitivy, his arrogance ( after all , he never had a baby and couldn't possibly know what it feels like)were reflected in his statement about post preganancy. The female population, representing 50% of his audience sighed a collective "ugh".
You cannot fix an "ignorant" self serving comment. Tom Cruise showed the public who he was and the public responded. Fair or unfair, the public is fast to judge. There is no room for error with the public.
Pat Kingsley had an excellent reputation and was the premier publicist for many in Hollywood. An article about her company with a story about a divide between her and a younger partner seems to have split up business leaving Pat Kingsley out of the loop.
Pat carefully guided actors for twenty years. I was sad to see her put in a bad light. She was ousted for business reasons. If what I read was true, her fall came from an agressive younger partner and not something she said or did.
Pat Kingleys situation is different from Tom Cruise. To have a reputation for so many years and to be put out by someone is a nightmare. This is a problem many people face every day in business.
Why does someone have to lose everything for another person to succeed. The country and the people accept negative news quickly and are quick to judge. Every is presumed guilty.
We have become a culture moving too fast, doing too much and negative. We are ready to throw a punch at someone standing in a long line. Our anger is on the surface. There are so many victims as a result of this anger.
In the case of Tom Cruise, he insulted women all over the world. He also soundly "stupid" in talking about medication. With so many people on medication for anxiety and depression, you would think Tom Cruise might have a little understanding.
He ridiculed women and all people suffering with aniety and depression. It showed a "stupidity" that is unforgivable.
In Pat Kingsley's case, one woman brought her down. I have experinced the loss of reputation from one woman's actions. I know what it feels like to work all your life and to have someone want to be you, have what you have and try to take it.
I have never understood why people can't share with someone. Why do we as a culture have to destroy in order to get. Where is the kindness? Where is our humanity?
There are some situations hard to forgive and others where we must forgive. Tom Cruise's beliefs and personality were carefully hidden for so many years. Leaving Pat Kinglsey has prooved to be his demise.
Tom Cruise's behavior on Oprah was bizaar. No one believed his couch jumping love. It was not believable or just too "nuts" for the public. His aggressive and seemingly tunneled vision has "come out" and hurt him.
The public wants to love their "stars". The public doesn't want to love some angry and apparently demeaning. He has permanently lost a big part of his audience.
His downfall is understandable. Mel Gibson will also never enjoy his popularity and support. The public cannot tolerate a man who has hate in his heart. No boycott is necessary. Mel Gibson deserved to lose his audience because he hates so many people. His fall is understandable.
Pat Kingsley and other people in business in similar positions do not deserve to be ruined. Thier downfall comes at the hands of some "wannabe". A few accusation and some bad publicity and people "dump" Pat and people like her. In this situation, the people around should be more loyal and supportive.
We have to learn to distinguish between good people who are being treated poorly and those who deserve to lose our respect. We do not distinguish between the two. We have to become more sensitive and give people the benefit before we rush to judgement.
Until we "slow" down, the stress we all feel everyday, the pressures we all feel everyday and the ahger lying an inch away from exploding will prevent us from being decent and kind. Let's say goodbye to Tom Cruise and Mel Gbison, but have more tenderness for those people who worked hard and are decent.

evie litwok/ tippy/ the tippy story

oldbridgenjNOKILLshelter
THE FRIENDS OF THE ANIMAL RESCUE SHELTER MEET TO ORGANIZE.
Wednesday, august 16, this volunteer group met at Java Joint in Old Bridge. I found myself crying yesterday when I heard the news of an arrest. I was upset for the family and how the media, particularly, the news media hounded and convicted this family for the last decade.
For ten years, you heard the Ramsey's were suspects. You did not hear much about the court and the DA dismissing the Ramseys as suspects. Instead, you heard reporters asking the question "do you think they are guilty".
There are at least three problems with the news as the public sees it today. The first is the bias of each station. The second problem is that yesterdays news is "history" . The third problem is that the news is not what it used to be.
The last problem is most disturbing to me. For almost a month I listened to CNN, FOX and MSNBC. I had the television on almost 24/7. The coverage was identical on all three cable news channels. While I wanted to know about the war in Lebanon, there appeared to be no other news but the war.
By the time Anderson Copper 360 came on, I felt like I had been watching a sporting event not a war. Cooper, along with everyone else on cable news was reporting evey rocket being fired. It was a blow by blow "war". I felt like I was listening to "every pitch". I find it barely tolerable in sports, so it was definitely more than I wanted to know about the war.
During the time of their reporting of the war, you heard about nothing but the war. Today, you hear only about Jon Bennett Ramsey and a blow by blow about her killer. The war in the middle east is old news and is therefore gone.
Terrible things have happened in the world in recent years. Katrina destroyed an American city and we hear nothing about the Gulf Coast. The cable news channels give us in depth description of one piece of news all day. They do only the one story all day, kind of "news du jour".
I would prefer to hear updates of what is going around all over the world. I would like to hear about older stories, lets say two or three days old. Yesterday's news is finished.
One more thing, I used to rush to the TV when I saw the words BREAKING NEWS. Years ago, this would mean a breaking news story of major significance. Today, breaking news is a headline which never leaves the screen. How will I know when it is urgent?
Yesterday, with the arrest of Jon Bennett Ramsey's alleged killer, I saw TV reporters talk as about Patsy Ramsey. Some appeared to show feelings about Patsy. Some of those same reporters were asking leading and highly suggestive stories when they covered this case 10 years ago. Some of these same reporters were asking audiences, "Do you believe the Ramsey's killed their daughter?". The reporters helped to shape a convinction in the minds of the American public. It's intolerable to see those same people forget their stories from 10 years ago and act sympathetic.
Reporters are free to say leading comments which often spins the story a certain way. I am distgusted at any show of pathos by reporters. Better they look at themselves from tape 10 years ago and see how they contributed to destroying this family.
There was a time when the news "the News". There was a time when the news was factual and informative. Today it is just another drama. I would prefer to have a channel reporting current stories with updates on older stories. I prefer they provide the facts and not the spin.
Anderson Cooper, please be the first to take off the combat outfit and stop the drama.

evie litwok/ tippy the tippy story

NED LAMONT AND THE DEMOCRATS

I believe the democrats are making a big mistake in not distinguishing between "anti-war" and anti-terrorism". There is nothing in the printed press nor on the magazine shows which indicates a difference.
Americans are not anti-terrorism. The fear of terrorists is great. In pointing to Iraq and claiming anti-war, the Democrats are failing to understand the larger picture. The larger picture clearly shows networks of terrorism with Iraq being key to the story. The housing and the training of terrorists in any country is of concern to us.
Nobody seems to want to focus on the terrorist training happening right here in the United States. South America is a hot bed of terrorist training and there is little mention of it by the Democrats.
If the Dems focus on Iraq they will not gain any seats in the House or the Senate. The blame game sickens all of us. If the Democrats point to Iraq and the Republicans point to national security, it will turn off the American public.
The truth is the Bush pushed us into war without knowledge of the lack of weapons of mass destruction. He was wrong or he lied. The public knows this. The Democrats voted on Iraq based on this misinformation. The public should not hold officials accountable for their vote because they were misled.
The question is, should we be in Iraq? The public feels both ways. Prior to the terror plane threat in London, the public would overwhelmingly said no.Ask the public how they feel today, they would probably say yes.
The truth is Americans are afraid of terrorists. If stability in the region would result in lessening the threat of terrorists, then the vote would be to remain there.
This is all complicated by a large looming problem. The democracy we are helping to create in these countries has resulted in the election of Hamas and Hezbollah as key players in government. We can't dismiss those elections. Instead, we must see the support for terrorism within those states.
There is nothing we can do about democatically elected officials who are known terrorists. This fact should be of concern to us.The Democrats and Republicans are so simplistic in their strategy to win elections. They focus on one issue and both have no world view.
I have yet to see an eletion debate which provokes intelligent thought. I have yet to see a debate which thinks about the future and what the world might look like.
The two parties are already maneuvering to "blame". The parties have not figured out Americans are sick of this type of election. Its petty and makes us turn off.
Take a dozen Americans from any walk of life and they can telegraph the election and mimic the debates.
A friend of mine who is liberal said to me, "wouldn't Iraq be better off with Saddam". To her I say, its not the liberal in you I don't like, its the ignorance of the statement I don't like.
Whether its Republican or Democrat, our concern as a leading country should be for the safety of people in other nations. My personal feelings comes from being a child of survivors of the Holocaust. I was "taught" if "Jewish " people could be targeted so could anybody. The message my parents taught me was not to just worry about Jewish people but to watch for anywhere in the world where human beings are being targetted for no reason.
I say to those who think the people would be better off with Saddam, you obviously don't know how many people he had killed. It is a humanitarian act to get rid of Saddam. I support candidates who want people to have decent lives and not be exposed to hatred, fear and death for their beliefs.
The Republicans and Democrats do not offer clear vision. They spend four years pointing to the faults of the other party. They jump on each others "pereived mistakes". How about a campaign which discusses that state of the world.
The country is sick of the pettiness. Ned Lamont won his election on one issue. He will probably lose the nest election because his focus was Iraq. The country is more scared of terrorists. If Iraq is the central issue, the Democrats are in trouble.
Both parties will do what they have done for years. They will use fear to scare Americans into their vote. The Republicans are partically good at this. They just point to the Democrats and say "do you really want these people to protect you?". I don't and I am a Democrat. I don't trust Demcrats in times of war.
If the Democrats were smart, they would have a larger would view. They consistently change positions. I don't mind if a candidate rethinks an issue. I don't mind if a candidate changes his or her mind. I mind if they change their minds everyday.
Both parties need to make this election be about terrorism in the world. The American public needs to know how we are going to handles the larger picture.

evie litwok/ tippy/ the tippy story

NICOLE MILLER RADIO COMMERCIAL SUGGESTS NICOLE MILLER "INSPIRED" THE LITTLE BLACK DRESS

Commericals rarely catch my attention these days. The Gecko in Geico catches my attention. The Afflac Duck always catches my attention. A elephant dancing to "Singing in the Rain" caught my attention but I could only remember the elephant dancing.

The other day I listened to a commercial designed to hype the Nocle Miller new furntiure line. The advertising agency took the libery of suggesting the "little black dress" was inspired by Nicole Miller. What the little balck dress has to do with furniture I don't know. I do know Nicole Miller was probably a teenager when Audrey Hepburn "inspired" the little black dress. The little black dress was Hepburn's signature dress.

I don't like misinformation. I like the truth. When I hear a lie or a misrepresnentation, I turn off to the company and to the product. Someone tell Nicole Miller about this commerecial because I do not believe she would condone it.

Enough liberties are already taken in commercials. Using 60's song to say some financial institution relates to you is ridiculous. I know few companies from their advertisements. The Niccole Miller "little black dress" would make me stay away from the furniture. Its stime these people stop lying.

The simpliucity of the duck, the gechko and the elephant is all we need. Its fun the watch and its both Geico and Afflac companies we all know. Its how a commercial should be done. I wanted to discuss why its hard to be a democrat at this point in time. Having watched FOX and CNN continuously since July 12th ( due to the war in Israel and Lebanon), I saw the disgusting campaign in Connecticut.

Joe Lieberman is a gentleman. I have never experiencced him to be a negative campaigner. He has a gentle quality. I watched the bloggers and technologically savvy tear him apart. I watched the anti war liberals come out. They are the spoilers of the democratic party. They are liberals only to a point. If Joe Lieberman loses this election, it will be their fault. They will have taken a calm voice out of the senate. I will work hard against these liberals.

I would prefer to call myself a radical. I believe all people have equal righta. I dont' believe the liberals can take that kind of stance, They can spoil an election but they have no spine. Their breaking point is "gay rights". They are so terrified of losing an election that they "moderate" their position when it comes to gay rights.

Take any liberal and you will get a wishy washy politician. They can only stand up for certain things. At least George Bush is who he is. While I am not a fan of George Bush, I respect his ability to focus. I don't agree with him on many issues but I always know where he stands.
With the democratic liberals, you can watch them change their position. Well if a man like Joe Lieberman , who stands for much more then his vote in Iraq, losses this election, I will offer to campaign for him.
There does need to be a third party. Let the liberals have the democratic party. There needs to be a party of humanity. People who care about the liberty of everyone. I don't say this to some like some bubble gum commercial, i just believe that this world and its fears must be conquered. War and more wars will only continue unless there is a committment to understand our own fears and our own prejudice.
The Democratic party has lost its appeal for me. Joe Lieberman is a person willing to negotiate and has palyed an important role in the Senate. I hope the people of Connecticut remember that tonight.

Letlive.org Israel rescue group needs help[ for 8000 animals

A spokeperson from letlive.org was on TV today begging for donations for food for over 8000 misplaced animals. During the day, I have the cable news shows. CNN is so boviously biased its become hard to watch. FOX, which I never watched, seems to be actually more fair in their reporting.
At night, I need a break from the news. I love good television and I am happy to say we have some great television in shows like Criminal MInds, Cold Case and Without A Trace.
I tried to figure out why these particular shows are so great to watch. "Ciminal Minds" was my latest addition and I see how involved I am with the characters and how much the characters are involved with each other. Each of these shows offer not only an intriguing plot, or story line, but they offer something fresh, a realtionship between the cast.
In more recent years there have ben other regular shows I enjoyed. I lost interest in the stories because while the story was good, there was no relationship between the characters. I loved but have stopped watching the "CSI" shows for this reason. I loved but have stopped watching the "Law and Order" series for the same reason.
While the drama of "CSI" and "Law & Order" was also great, mininal work was done on the characters interacting.
At this time in our lives, with so many diaffected people and so much war, there is a need to know we can all get along regardless of our "diverse" bakcgrounds.
The cast of "Ciminal MInds" is such a different and rich cast. Each character has a clear personality and the group is solidly together respecting the difference in their characters. This keeps me watching as much as the plot from the show. Its the dynamics I need at this point in MY TV.
Television has always been a reflection of the culture, and I see a handful of shows steeping up to meet the "new" need. We need each other. We all need to relate to each other regardless of our differences. We need to care again. Criminal Minds, Cold Case, and Without A Trace are shows with feelings and shows that bring out feelings. The reality/ survivor shows reflected the cultures disaffection. These shows offer up feelings. I need these kind of show today.

MEL GIBSON IS PRODUCING A TV FOR ABC ABOUT THE HOLOCAUST

Mel Gibson is producing a mini series about the Holocaust for ABC TV. Are they nutz? Of all the people on the planet, they pick an anti-Semite to produce something about the Holocaust. With thousands of producers, why would they ever consider him. Have they seen the Passion of the Christ? Do they know his father is a Holocaust denier?
There is no way Mel Gibson can be "passionate" about the Holocaust project. Please write on this blog and help me to convincwe ABC to dump Mel Gibson. No person with so much hate for Jews should ever do a project about something as sensitive as the Holocaust.

evielitwok.com

MEL GIBSON

A few days ago, MEL GIBSON was arrested for drunk driving. During his arrest he threatened an officer and made anti-Semitic comments. He apologized saying he disgraced himself. I am here to say, NO APOLOGY CAN OR SHOULD BE ACCEPTED FROM MEL GIBSON
MEL GIBSON is a lucky man. His acting skills caused him to achieve both celebrity and financial success. His financial success affords him things most of society never experience.
There are those who financial success have done much for society. Bill Gates is an example of a man whose success has afforded him the opportunity to give back to the world. Bill Gates works hand in hand with his wife in trying to make changes that would improve the quality of life for many people.
MEL GIBSON is a man who looks at an Officer and tells him "I OWN MALIBU". Gibson would rather use his money and celebrity to cause the officer to lose his job. In other words, I am so powerful, I can f... up your life.
MEL GIBSON is an anti-Semite, a woman hater, a BIGOT. For over 20 years in the spotlight. Mel Gibson has made his "hatred of others" known with no consequence.
Unfortunately, Mel Gibson, does not care he is spreading hate and fear. Mel Gibson is in a position to influence minds.
There are two choices for how the public should handle MEL GIBSON. One choice is to not support any of his movies. The other choice is to have hime attend rehab for those who are prejudice. He must, as a public person, be held accountable for his hatred.
The world is at war with terrorism. Terrorists are unconventional in their methods. They use human shields to hide behind and UN officials and innocent people get killed. Perhaps we should send MEL GIBSON with his wife and children to the southern border of Lebanon. Perhaps if he and his family were used as a human shields, he may gain insight into "Those who hate".
Mel.. The Lebanese army has more than 80,000 soldiers. The Hezbollah fighters amount to 6,000.A Lebanese army of 80,000 can gain control of 6000 terrorists.
The Lebanese prime minister would have you believe its Israel. Its not "the f... Jew", as MEL said. Its not as MEL Gibson said."the Jews are resposible for all the wars in the world".
It's the Lebanese who wont stop them. The Lebanese refusal to use their 80,000 army is the problem. You, Mel Gibson are also the problem.
Your ignorance and prejudice is just as dangerous as the terrorist's. It is people like Mel Gibson who keep the hate and fear alive in the world.
Mel Gibson should not be afforded the status of a celebrity. He lacks the moral standards and is a terrible example of a human being.
There is no acceptable apology. I fear people who hate. I am a child of survivors of the Holocaust. I know second hand, what hate can do to a culture. The message my parents taught me was not just to worry about what society does to the Jewish people but look for and be concerned with how everyone is being treated in the world.
The larger lesson of the Holocaust was to fight for those people who cannot fight for themselves.
Mel Gibson, if you are not willing to take you and your family to Lebanon, then go to live in Haifa right now. Live in a place with your family where you get bombed every day. Live in the place you don't "own" and experience the 30 seconds you and your family have to run into a shelter. You will only become a human being when you directly experience hate and fear.
MEL GIBSON, you have been a privileged man. Its time for you to learn. Live in Haifa, amidst the suicide bombers, live where rockets are dropping. Live somewhere you don't OWN and learn what its like to be at the end of hate and fear. You MEL GIBSDON are part of the problem. Its time you became part of the solution.

www.evielitwok.com

"My" truth about relationships with working women with kids

I learned the hard way about the perils of getting involved with a working single mom with kids. I was involved with kids all my adult life. I worked as a camp counselor for as many years as I could before starting to work in the real world. I grew up in an extended family and "grew" up with everyone else's children.
Being the only person to not have my own children, I became an"honorary cool aunt" to all my friends kids. Then it happened. I got involved with a working women who had two boys living with her.
I cannot say and do not know any situation like thus but my own. Within a few weeks of starting this relationship, her older son had surgery. She asked me to take care of him when he was home from the surgery. This was my first mistake.
Having only known the women for a few weeks, I should have realized it was inaapropriate to "be a nurse" to her son so early on in the relationship. This should have been my first "BIG RED LIGHT".
Asking this early to stay home and take care of her son was an indicator of what was to come. I probably knew it at the time but chose to ignore it. Next and too early on in the relationship, we discussed "co-parenting". I was happy about this being that I had no children of my own. I should have realized this was a 'SECOND RED LIGHT".
...and third, when you hear a new lover say the words "I would never do what so and so did to you"... run out the door. This is the 'THIRD RED LIGHT'. If all of these things happen within a few weeks, then head for the hills. If gets worse, not better.
This working women wanted someone to take care of her kids and maybe a part time lover. Her kids wanted "mommy" all to themselves. "Mom" was so busy working they rarely saw her. The only feelings they had for me was a whole lot of anger because they wanted their mom, not me. It was alot easier for the kids to dislike me than to dislike mom.
I got involved with her kids helping them with homework, which "mom" had no patience to do, and driving them everywhere they needed to go. The more I did, the more they disliked me. "Mom " was little help in the situation with the kids. The discord brought the kids closer to her.
She would ask me to co- parent and then reverse every decision I made, rendering me ridicuolous. She undermined me constantly, then promised to not do it again. She repeated these empty promises. MORE RED LIGHTS!
In the end, "MOM" and I broke up. It has been years since I have seen these kids yet a recent incident made me see another "RED LIGHT'.
My life has gotten better in the years since we broke up. The relationship was difficult .It was a nasty emotional divorce. There were no lawyers or courtrooms, just the damage a lover can do.
I thought it was "IN THE PAST" until two days ago. I noticed a problem in an on-line internet account. I discovered it was "Mom's "younger son who had hacked into my account(s). My "RED LIGHT" button doesn't need to flash. The fact that years after the relationship, he would take the time to hack into an account of mine made me act quickly.
If he still holds feelings about me then this is my version of "Fatal Attraction". The only difference is it is the son and not the ex-lover. Fortuneately, the years give ME some wisdom and I did act quickly. I let the authorities know of this situation. I don't want to end up like Michael Douglas with a "dead rabbit" on the stove.
I believe my "ex- working mom" just wanted a babysitter. I believe she wanted to work more than she wanted to have her children. The children knew this and acted out then and are probably still acting out now. I don't think I would get involved with a women who has children. It is to loaded a situation. There is generally a messy divorce, lots of bad feelings and you start off with "laundry" you don't understand.
Life, like relationships, is complicated enough. I have enough of my own garbage to bring into any new relationship. I think I will try knowing someone for quite for time before I start "running" any errands. In fact, I don't want to run the errands anymore, I just want to enjoy the relationship.
